So I went there today, never had a problem previous times or charged either and as I went there, the woman at the gate had abit of a attitude in the way she spoke, I mentioned the stuff in my boot was bulk waste, literally only a couple of items less and she mentioned the fee was $25 so I said since when has it been that way" in which she said "always" keep in mind I live in Subiaco and $25 for a little plastic box which was folded in and old workout bench seat...merely two items...probably less then 3kg all up and a small amount of space it would take..25 for that..if it was something like a bed frame..would be a little more understandable."

Just attempted to drop off maybe 2-3kg of styrofoam. Wanted $25 entry fee for out of council. AITA for attempting to recycle? Obscene.

Price was $40 for dumping a mattress and $40 for a large trailer full of broken furniture/appliances.

We got there with a truck full of nice recyclable cardboard ( 800 kilos) and they still want us to pay $280 a tonne. same price as if we mixed all plastic and cardboard together... not a very good way to encourage people to recycle!

Outrageous charge for disposing of 2 small trailerloads of greenwaste.. $146! Perhaps appropriate for nuclear waste but not just a few twigs. Bonfire next time. HFS Mt Claremont

Got there and a mate who I have not seen for 40 years was working there.Classic...I think considering this is in the heart of Perth and it's getting increasingly hard to find a venue for this sort of operation, I think they do a great job. I live in Falcon Bay, so I usually go to the Mandurah depot. The locals here would have a fit if they paid the same price for admission as these guys in Shenton Park, but it just made me more appreciative of the service I have. Regards, Denn...

The facility is generally easy to navigate but it's best to speak with the attendants to ensure that you're dumping the right stuff in the right spot. Sadly general waste looks like it could be more segregated than it is, but for a small fee I'm happy to properly dispose of electronics, polystyrene, fibro sheeting and chemicals.
